Adelaidians would know, Prospect has been undergoing a major redevelopment; we thought it was time to shine a light on the fantastic work being undertaken from the City of Prospect to re-energise a to-date underutilised opportunity.
Prospect Road “Village Heart”
Prospect Council states that “this redevelopment will transform the existing road to become a more people-friendly environment, creating a special place for people. This catalytic project will be 'a first' for any arterial road in South Australia. It is much more than a main street project. In conjunction with Development Plan Amendments, this streetscape upgrade will inspire significant private property development, infill development opportunities and create a new destination within the capital city of Adelaide”
The centre piece of the Councils plan is to create a ‘village heart’ in the centre of Prospect Road, which will become “The ‘Heartbeat’ of the inner northern suburbs, a vibrant and distinctive neighbourhood village, a people friendly road that is framed by attractive medium to high density housing in some areas and local character houses in other, all within a short distance of cafes, interesting and eclectic boutique shops, daily shopping needs, offices, green open spaces, entertainment and cultural experiences”

Churchill Road “The Ugly Duckling”
The Prospect City Council has stated the much anticipated make-over of Churchill Road, the ugly duckling of the suburban road network in Adelaide will transform this much aligned major arterial road and designated freight route into one of Adelaide's premier transport boulevards for vehicles, and a place for people.

Prospect Oval ‘A place for community’
The project will see the redevelopment of one of the existing grandstands at Prospect Oval to incorporate a new fitness pavilion and the upgrade of the function centre in the other grandstand. The completed project is to provide improved access to sporting teams and facilities by Indigenous communities in South Australia and the Northern Territory and to provide the general public and sporting clubs of the inner north suburbs with improved sporting, health and function facilities.
