WHY DID Blacktown COUNCIL PREPARE A NEW LEP?
There are two reasons why Council has prepared a new LEP.
Firstly, by law all councils in NSW must prepaSreHANaES PARK new LEP based on a standardised LEP Template. The

  • Consider how Blacktown should develop to meet long term employment and housing needs, in accordance with State Government employment and housing targets to 2036.
  • Consider ways to protect the environment and meet the recreation needs of the current and
    future population.
  • Update zoning and development controls.
    WHAT LAND DOES DRAFT
    BLEP 2013 APPLY TO?
    Draft BLEP 2013 applies to all land in the Blacktown Local Government Area except for land that is governed by a State Environmental Planning Policy (SEPP) or a “deemed” SEPP (the term for former “Regional Environmental Plans” or REPs). SEPPs are legal planning documents that deal with issues of significance to the State.
