Don't believe the news or the experts. This is a classical example.
Watch the video from a so called expert then read my article.  John is wrong !!!
I think after watching this linked video you have to see the clear point that with the right professionals, you can be better off in the long run.
With the right loan broker that can take you growth higher every year.
They will guide you to interest only loans.
This way your tenants can pay off your loan because you don't pay principle and interest.
Think about it while watching this video. If you do interest only loans you could possibly have one property every year, instead of  one property and stuck.
Last time I talked about an article that showed you that to retire from property you needed 5 or more properties to be safe.
Don't forget your dream is FREEDOM. Don't lose site of the goal.
Its all about achieving FREEDOM, not having one property and having it half paid off.
"Have over 10 Properties like me" and have them gaining growth each year, while your tenants maintain the loan.
Keep your job and in 10-15 years or maybe longer.
You can have the choice with real assets and lots of them. Pay them down or just keep them. Pass some onto the children !!! or Retire early !!!! or Go travel and have the income pay for your lifestyle !!!
One thing for sure start thinking about this now or you will pay more.....

HOW DO YOU DO THAT? WHAT DO YOU NEED TO DO?
To retire and live off property you need 2 types of qualifications in the your team.
1. The Investment loan broker (the person knows how to think about long term buying)
2. The Property analyst adviser (the person who can find you a better property to buy)
DON'T GET THE WRONG LOAN
1. To do interest only loans you and have the person to help you with the "ABILITY" to buy one property a year with the best possible interest only rate you will need a good investment loan broker.

DON'T BUY THE WRONG PROPERTY
2. To find that property that will have a "BETTER" rental yield and capital growth structure you really
need a fantastic property analyst adviser.
They can look at everything on the market and differentiate all the properties on the market and tell you which ones and why they are a better long term investment properties.

sorry but this is the way I see it.
Why would it not be better to have more properties then just one.
John's argument does not make commonsense.
By having a Principle and Interest Loan and not just an Interest only loan, you actually make your
path to FREEDOM hurt more now and in the future.
I am not a mortgage broker so I don't know if the Broker gets more commissions on Principal and interest loans. Why would he say this ??????
The only argument would be that people are getting Interest only loans on the wrong non capital growth properties. That was because they did not do Due Diligence on the property market available or were wrongly advised.
Watch the news reporter. Funny how the graph that the news reporter shows does not further on their analyst with the capital growth. Maybe they should show another graph to show people that bought the right advised properties with the right loan now have 5 assets and are on their way to FREEDOM.
